+ Understanding your camera and lenses: The digital SLR workshop
This is a basic entry level workshop that allows participants to better
understand the capabilities of their equipment and to understand the basics
of camera and lens operations. This course will cover plenty of the
technical 'jargon' associated with cameras and lenses but will be easy to
understand and will allow the participant to become a more advanced
shooter. We will cover metering, aperture, focal lengths, depth of field,
focusing and framing as well as basic flash operations.
* Remember to bring all your equipment AND manuals.

+ Advanced Shooting: The Lighting/small flash and filters workshop
This course will cover outdoor and indoor mixed lighting techniques, shutter
dragging techniques, outdoor/indoor wireless flash operations as well as all
the metering tricks that go along with complex lighting situations. We will
also discuss the use of filters - for making HDR images inside the camera.
Along with this course we are offering post-shoot analysis of the first stages
of post-production inside Photoshop CS4.

+ Photoshop & the Digital Image: After the camera and into the computer
This course will provide participants with the knowledge they need to bring their
digital photos into the computer and begin post-production in Photoshop. The course
will be centered around Photoshop version CS4 and will cover all file types and
advantages and disadvantages of JPEGS, TIFFS and RAW files. The course will also
include basic information on RAW processing, curves, colour correction, layering,
filtering and some advanced techniques such as HDR, panoramic seaming and B&W
colouring methods and more.
*participants should have access to Photoshop CS2 or later and ideally have a laptop
with the program(s) to bring to the session. Some screen shots of certain techniques
will be provided as paper copies to participants but if participants do not have a
computer to bring with them they are encouraged to take detailed notes to practice at home.
*this course is considered an introductory course to digital post-processing using Photoshop CS4.

+ The Landscape Sessions Workshop: Digital, Large and Medium Format Cameras
if you want to make great landscape images but just need to build that extra bit of confidence
try this workshop. We will actually go to a location and work it together and learn to control
the light and not let it control us. You will learn filtering techniques, HDR layering,
film vs. digital, you will use large and medium format cameras and learn the advantages to digital
SLR's. If you love the outdoors and landscape photographs this course is for you. It's all about
having fun outdoors with our cameras and taking great images of our province.
